ABOUT
Sea Salt Water ceramics are handmade by Lizzie Butler in a small shared studio in Brooklyn, NY. With an education in the arts and professional experience in design, she discovered that clay provided the means to meld her needs for both artistic creativity and practical functionality. Forever inspired by the sea, her work is influenced by the experience of growing up on The Forgotten Coast in Florida.
Lizzie uses a variety of pottery techniques to achieve her work, from throwing on the wheel to slip casting to hand building. Slight variations are part of the handmade process and make each piece unique.
If you are in New York City and interested in learning to make your own ceramics, Lizzie teaches both semester courses and private lessons at Clayhouse Brooklyn in Cobble Hill.
Feel free to reach out to request the purchase of certain pieces or to commission your own custom pottery. Collaborations and general inquiries always welcome.
